One of my Meetup Groups, the South Sound Hackers had a Zoom meeting on this topic, “How to Install an Atomic Red Team Test”. When I read the meeting announcement, I knew it had something to do with cyber security. My curious nature wanted to know more. A fellow member, Jesse Moore shared with the group how to install this test. He spent hours on this presentation. I am sharing a few takeaways from his presentation on this topic.
I learned these Atomic Red Team tests are used to test your computer network security. These tests can be used with Windows or Linux operating systems, and they are mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK Framework. Each test is configured back to a particular tactic; thus enabling defenders a way to test their defenses across numerous styles of attacks. Once installed and executed these tests can run in less than five minutes.
